July 3, 2019

Dear Sahuarita High School Mustang Band Members,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year. The Sahuarita High School Marching Mustang Band will begin our session with a lengthy and fulfilling band camp. Please check the SHS Band web page for calendar details, music listening, and more information about our session. (https://www.sahuaritamusic.org)

Camp will create a unique opportunity for all members to bond as a team, work together, and log more hours than they will the entire month of August in the classroom for one subject. Each member is required to attend camp so please clear your schedule from doctor appointments, vacations, work, and other events that will pull you away from our team moving forward together at the same speed.

Students should be well rested for camp and spend time physically conditioning with a light workout everyday. Students should practice their instrument and memorize the Sahuarita High School Fight Song, Star Spangled Banner, and know the music to the opener of the show (Heist 1-85). Creative Movement students should work on LOTS of drop spins and body movement if they have a flag at home.

Each day of camp will have a theme to wear: Monday- WHITE, Tuesday – GOLD, Wednesday – BLUE, Thursday – Beachwear, Friday – Section Day. Students should bring their instrument/flag, music, tennis shoes, sunscreen, hat/sunglasses, and water bottle. Students should bring a lunch each day, dinner break will be provided before returning to the field for evening rehearsal.
