Good Evening Everyone,

I hope everyone has had a great weekend. I have a lot of updates for you in this email, so please look over everything carefully!
1) A huge congratulations goes out to Anya Merten for successfully earning a spot in the All-State Choir this year!!!! This is a tremendous achievement, and we're all very proud of you!
2) Jazz Band Trip Information:
Once I can finalize a couple of last timing things with the bus company and our festival coordinator I'll be sending out our final itinerary to everyone, with specifics about lodging, meals, etc. A packing list will go out along with that information. Please be on the lookout.
There are a couple of students that still have partial outstanding balances. Please take care of those this week.
We will have a meeting for all students, parents, and chaperones on Tuesday, April 16 at 6:00P in the Band Room to briefly go over last reminders and expectations for the trip. I don't anticipate this meeting lasting longer than 30-45 minutes, but I do think it's important that we take the time to go over a few things before our departure. Please plan on attending.
3) State Send-off Show:
The band has been asked to perform the Star Spangled Banner at the SUSD Winter Arts State Send-off Show on Thursday April 4. The send-off show begins at 6:30P in the SHS Gym, and call time for students is 6:00P. This is a large, district event, so unless you have a prior commitment, all students should plan on being there. If there is a conflict, please make sure to let me know by the end of this week.
4) Upcoming Dress Rehearsals and Concert Information:
Please make sure to mark the following dates in your calendars if you haven't done so already. There were a few shifts that had to happen to the calendar for this quarter:
Apr. 23 4:00-6:00P: Symphonic Band Dress Rehearsal
Apr. 25 4:00-6:00P: Symphonic Band Dress Rehearsal (this date was changed from April 30 to provide an extra rehearsal before Symphonic Band travels to State Festival)
Apr. 26: Symphonic Band performance at State Concert Festival (Mountain View High School – Mesa)
May 7 4:00-6:00P: Symphonic Band Dress Rehearsal
May 13 6:00P: Band and Orchestra Spring Concert (this date was changed just prior to spring break due to a double booking on our original date at the SUSD auditorium)
May 22: SHS Graduation – This is a required performance for all Band and Orchestra students. More information will come out about call time, etc. once it becomes available.

Have a great week everyone!!!
