Regional Band and Orchestra Audition Information

Regional Band and Orchestra Audition time is almost upon us! I'm really excited for the number of students we have auditioning this year, and below you'll find some important information to make sure your day is successful. These auditions are easily one of the most important events of the year, so make sure you're working hard these last few days to make sure you're prepared to your best. You got this!

Before I get to that, I want to again send out a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Karen Cornaby for earning a spot in Jazz I at All-State Jazz this year. It's a tremendous honor! Congratulations!

Now, as for the auditions so important reminders for everyone:

!) Auditions take place at Palo Verde High School, 1302 S Avenida Vega, Tucson. Students are responsible for providing their own transportation to their auditions. If transportation is an issue please let me know right away so we can coordinate transportation for you, if necessary. For your quick reference, there is a map of PVHS and the nearby area at the end of this email. You'll want to go behind the school and park in the parking lot circled in red. You'll use the gate marked with a red star to access campus and follow the signage for check-in.

2) Plan on arriving at least an hour prior to your audition time so that you have time to park, get checked in, warm-up, find your audition room, use the restroom, etc. A complete list of our audition times can be found below. The check-in area is in the lobby of the PVHS auditorium. Students need to have some form of ID with them to check in for the auditions (student IDs with a picture work just fine). At the check-in area you'll find your room information, required scales, etc. They will also give you your scoresheet at that time. DO NOT MISPLACE YOUR SCORESHEET! You take it with you to the audition room when it's your time!

3) Once you're checked in, the warm up area is in the auditorium. Take some time to warm up, tune, and review through your audition materials. Make sure to arrive at your audition room at least a few minutes early so the room monitors can give you further audition instructions before it's time to go in.

4) Once your audition is over, you're done! Time to relax! Results will be announced on Monday, Jan. 29.
