Dear Parents,
We had a very exciting field trip to Tombstone last Friday. Thank you to everyone who attended as chaperones. The students were focused and enjoyed some fun time with their friends throughout the day. Students still need to work individually on music and basics like tone production. I am challenging every student to play long tones for 5 minutes every day to increase their range and quality of sound. The beverage contest has one week left and any section could win please continue to send in the following: cans of coke, Dr. Pepper, Sprite, Pepsi, Mt. Dew, Sierra Mist, we do not need any diet drinks please. We are also collecting 20 ounce bottles of Gatorade (any flavor). If your child has not turned in their email list yet please have them do so Monday, we will have more information about this fundraiser prior to fall break. If you are interested in helping Mrs. Perry paint the panels for our show this is the week. Painting plans are for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, after school is out, let me know!
Week at a Glance:
Monday – rehearsal 5:45-8:45, if it is raining we plan to be in the gym and will dismiss from the band room at 8:45pm
Tuesday – NA
Wednesday – guard 2:45-5:30 – Panel Painting after school
Thursday – percussion 3:30-6pm, student show host committee meeting (select group about 15 students)
Friday – Show Host Parent meeting for committee heads 3-4pm, rehearsal 4:30-9pm
Curriculum
Students are working on their second Objective sheet, it is due September 27th, this sheet has 10 objectives for students to complete in about 2 weeks. Please ask your child how you can help them be successful. They all have 5 playing/performing sections and 5 procedural items to complete.
Parent Volunteers Needed:
