Welcome to the Sahuarita High School Performing Ensembles. We have made it through the first week of school! Thank you for taking the time to help your child make it their classes and order their music supplies and books. Each year my mission is to create transparency with parents about our commitments of music preparation, students time commitment, and communication. I will hold our first music meeting this Thursday, August 20th at 6:00pm over zoom, see info below.

Student Access:
Students receive an email from me with the google meets link for each class. We will meet twice a week at our required time and students have the option to attend my office hours on Friday. Students will need to fill out our attendance form everyday of the week (this is new for week two). The attendance form is found on our class stream page.
Week at a Glance:
Monday/Tuesday – Upper Winds Chair Placement (15 minute google meets 1 time)
Wednesday/Thursday – Low Winds, and Strings Chair Placement (15 minute google meets 1 time)
Wednesday – New to SHS student marching block, no instruments, yes tennis shoes 3:30-4:30 google meets
Thursday – Percussion Chair Placement 3-3:30 or 3:30-4 (assigned in class Tuesday)
Friday – Fight Song Playing Test Due for Memory on google classroom, Club Officers Vote Tallied
Friday – ALL students in period 1,2, 4,5 marching block, no instruments, yes tennis shoes 10-11am google meets

Booster Board Nominations are available and we need your help! Each year parents participate in our board and it is that time again that we need to elect our officers. If you are interested in running for an office please take a moment and read the descriptions for our board and nominate yourself. Currently all meetings are held virtually once a month. Our program is only as strong as our support, thank you to everyone who has served in the past and continues to serve in the future. Elections will take place on Monday, August 31st.

Band – Percussion – Creative Movement is a co curricular class that also meets outside of school. These classes receive PE and Fine Arts Credits toward graduation. We are going to start our evening rehearsal schedule to fulfill our marching band and PE side of the class this week! All meetings are virtual through Labor Day. Student should find a place to work that is free from clutter either inside or outside the house. They need about a 8ft by 8ft space (bedroom with twin bed in it is fine). Students need to wear a comfortable tee-shirt or workout shirt, shorts (no jeans) and tennis shoes. They should have a water bottle handy for quick breaks.
