Dear Parents,
Happy New Year! We are already one week into the new semester and lots of things are happening. Students will be preparing music for the January 29th band day event with a concert at 6pm in the Auditorium for all parents, family and friends to attend. This is the first time we are holding the event so early in the year. Students should be reviewing the Overture To A New Millennium from the December Concert, and working on two new pieces, Havendance we handed out this week and Lightning Field they will receive on Tuesday this week. Please encourage your child to get in a good routine of practicing their instrument right along with completing all of their core class homework. We will be holding spot checks and other testing on the music very frequently this month.
Tuesday, January 15th the Music Boosters are holding a percentage night at Panda Express in Sahuarita Please check our facebook page and instagram for the flyer and please support our boosters.
I have asked students to verify with the front office how much they have paid in for their travel to San Antonio. Everyone should be at $300 as of the end of 2018, if you have received an invoice that does not seem correct, please contact the front office book store to verify your bill. Students will begin selecting who they want to room with in San Antonio next week, if you are behind on your payments your child will NOT be allowed to sign up for a room. Please make sure you have at least $300 paid by January 18th to allow your child the opportunity to room with the friends they want.
Regional auditions are coming up January 26th at U of A music building, we have 29 students auditioning between band, choir, orchestra, and percussion. I will be handing out the schedule for each of the students audition times this week. I am again the South Central Region Orchestra Chairperson and with this honor coming the need for your help as the parents. We again need parent volunteers on that day to help at the U of A Music Building. If you are available to please respond to this email with a time.

Finally thank you for making your child available last Monday for the Wrightson Ridge Grand Opening, they are so happy we were able to come and play for their first day of school!
