This is the hardest email I’ve ever had to compose.
Given the escalating concern around COVID-19, WGAZ has decided to follow suit with several other state circuits and cancel the remainder of the season. I am absolutely heartbroken by this. But it will not break us.
We still have the planned showcase performance on 3/26, and our district site tour on 3/25. If the district doesn’t allow us to have these performances, then we will postpone them, not cancel.
We have created something amazing at SHS. Our program has exceeded all expectations, and I would hate for us to not have the opportunity to end the season on our own terms. I want to fully realize this production; we deserve that.
Tomorrow, 3/13, we will still have rehearsal from 2-6. Our district performances are still on as of now, so we will plan accordingly. It is up to us as a group to finish what we started. At tomorrow’s rehearsal, we will also make a decision about Champ Camp on 3/19-3/20.
Please know that I am absolutely devastated by this news. I love all of you so much, and I know that Sahuarita Indoor Percussion will rise above this setback stronger than ever.
